Anna C. Keller

Anna believes that dance is important in recognizing the unexplainable beauty and creativity of the human body. She is originally from Missoula Montana where she trained at Missoula Youth Ballet and performed with Garden City Ballet. Her college career began at Texas Christian University and then transferred to the University of Wyoming where she graduated with a BFA in dance. The desire for movement has led her to Stockholm Sweden, Denver, New York City and eventually to the University of Arizona where she earned an MFA in dance, with an emphasis in choreography, performance, and dance history.

While at UA she was able to teach, lecture, choreograph, perform, refine her knowledge of dance history, and strengthen her collaborative skills with dance accompanists. Having worked with all ages and levels she enjoys the challenge of creating movement for each individual and was gifted the opportunity to work with dancers who have had physical limitations. Her performing opportunities include ballet, modern, jazz, tap, musical theatre and vertical dance, which she performed both on stage and on the rocks at Vedawoo recreation area in Wyoming. She was the featured dancer in a piece choreographed by Marsha Knight, that was chosen to perform at the Kennedy Center for the Gala performance of American College Dance Festival Association.

She has enjoyed teaching dance at the University of Idaho, Festival Dance & Performing Arts, The University of Arizona, as well as numerous studios and a handful of performing arts companies. She continues to find new ways to enhance her capabilities and hopes to ignite a passion for dance in others with her teaching and choreography.
